Toronto FC to announce Insigne this week

Sky Sport Italia confirms Lorenzo Insigne has reached an agreement with Toronto FC, adding that the MLS side will announce his signing by Monday.

Insigne’s time at Napoli will be over at the end of the season when the 30-year-old will move to Canada.

Sky Sport Italia confirms that the Italian winger has reached an agreement with the MLS side and an announcement is expected by Monday.

Insigne will end the season at Napoli before joining Toronto FC in June.

He rejected a contract extension offer from Napoli. The Partenopei had offered him a €3.5m-a-year deal, less than his current €5m-a-year salary.

Insigne will reportedly sign an €11.5m-a-year deal in Canada with add-ons for €4.5m.

Contrary to what was reported over the last few weeks the figures are after taxes so Insigne will get almost €80m net in five years.

Insigne is a product of Napoli academy and has spent almost his entire career at the club, scoring 114 goals in 415 matches.
