Torino ready to pay clause for Besiktas midfielder

Torino are reportedly ready to pay the €4.5m release clause to get teenage midfielder Emirhan Ilkhan from Besiktas.

He only turned 18 in June, and yet already has two caps for Turkey at Under-21 level.

Emirhan Ilkhan was promoted to the senior squad in January 2022 after coming through the Besiktas youth academy.

His contract runs to June 2025, but has a release clause set at €4.5m, and Fanatik and the Corriere Granata claim Torino could be prepared to pay that fee.

The Granata are in a hurry to get reinforcements after a blazing row between coach Ivan Juric and director of sport Davide Vagnati degenerated into a brawl.

It was caught on camera and leaked, perhaps by a member of the Torino squad, making clear just how unsatisfied the tactician is with the lack of movement on the market.

Emirhan Ilkhan is only 18, but he has already scored one goal in 11 Super Lig games, not to mention three goals and two assists in seven UEFA Youth League appearances.
