Torino make contact with Napoli over possible deal for Ostigard – report

Napoli Leo Ostigard

On Saturday, Torino reportedly made contact with Napoli with an enquiry about former Brighton defender Leo Ostigard according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio and Sky Sport Italia

Torino are believed to be fond admirers of Ostigard and coach Ivan Juric has already given his approval to the potential signing according to reports on Saturday evening.

Di Marzio details that Torino had already registered an interest in Ostigard before Napoli sent him out on loan to Genoa for the second half of the 2021-22 season.

Torino’s current approach is reportedly for a loan deal with an option to buy.

Ostigard, who is understood to be valued in the region of €5m, has been linked with a move away from the Stadio Maradona for most of the January transfer window, first as part of a potential player-plus cash deal with Genoa for Radu Dragusin, who is now at Tottenham.

Elsewhere, Udinese have also been linked with a move for Ostigard in recent weeks.

Ostigard, who was part of Napoli’s triumphant Scudetto-winning squad under Luciano Spalletti in 2022-23, has made 19 total appearances in all competitions so far this season, including 12 in Serie A, four in the Champions League, one in the Coppa Italia, and two off the bench in the recent Supercoppa Italiana.
