Torino busy on deadline day: Zima medical, Brekalo done deal

Torino are keeping themselves busy on the deadline day as the Granata have agreed deals for David Zima and Josip Brekalo.

On Saturday, the Granata coach Ivan Juric voiced his frustration regarding the club’s transfer strategy after the 2-1 defeat against Fiorentina.

Torino reacted by signing Dennis Praet on loan with an option to buy from Leicester City, Josip Brekalo from Wolfsburg and David Zima from SK Slavia Praha.

The latter, according to Calciomercato.com, underwent his medicals with Torino this morning, while the Serie A side have signed Brekalo on a €1m loan with an option to buy for €11m. The Croatian had also been linked with a move to Lazio.

Torino can still sign Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina if Tomas Rincon joins Sampdoria, while Shkodran Mustafi could join the Granata on a free transfer.

The former Arsenal and Sampdoria man was supposed to have his medicals with Torino on Monday, but the club haven’t yet completed the agreement with the 29-year-old.
