The Ducali have been sold for the second time in less than two months, with Fiorenzo Alborghetti acting as representative for an as yet unidentified new ownership.

Pastorello, who helped administrate Parma during their heyday in the 1990s, is perplexed by the situation.

“In this sale, no less than in the one before, there are too many mysteries,” he has commented, in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb.

“You read the names of ‘managers of reference’ but you don't know who will be at the helm of the club.

“For the love that I hold for Parma, where I spent the best years of my career in football, I just hope this is the right time and that we've reached a final solution.

“But faced with such little clarity, I ask myself how things could have reached this point at all.

“Last year the team had earned a spot in the Europa League, an achievement wasted by the failure to pay salaries and taxes.

“I don't understand the strategy of the old management, I'd like to see their accounts to get an idea. It's a truly paradoxical situation.”
