Verona striker Luca Toni has had an operation on his knee, the club has confirmed.
The 2006 World Cup-winner had previously been ruled out for two months with the injury, but has now undergone surgery to correct the issue.
“Hellas Verona announces that, in light of the clinical diagnosis, the decision was taken to perform surgery on Luca Toni’s knee to encourage stabilisation,” a statement from the Butei announced.

“The surgery went well. His recovery time will be related to the evolution of the clinical picture.”
The 38-year-old striker has enjoyed a late career rejuvenation with Verona, sharing the title of Serie A top scorer with Inter’s Mauro Icardi last season.
