Rafael Toloi has admitted that Atalanta “made a lot of mistakes” against SPAL on Monday and said the Dea will use it “as a warning sign”.
Atalanta lost their second match in five days against SPAL and have now gone three games without a win since their 5-0 triumph against Parma.
The centre-back claimed the Orobici weren’t “careful” enough against a “desperate” SPAL, but is determined to score points against Torino.
“We didn’t do well in the second half,” Toloi told the club’s official channel. “We played against a team who were desperate to score points.
“When you are playing against a teal like SPAL, you have to be careful. We are sorry about the defeat and this result might be useful to us as a warning sign.
“We must think about Torino now. A win against SPAL would have been important, but we still have a lot of games to do well.”
Atalanta have now slipped three points behind Roma at fourth in Serie A and Toloi concedes that Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have to start collecting points again.
“I don’t want to take anything away from a SPAL who played a good game, but we made a lot of mistakes in the second half,” he added. “We want to get the points and need to start doing it again. We have to analyse our mistakes and take points in Turin against Toro.”
On Saturday, they travel to Turin to face a Granata side placed ninth in the League and currently looking to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat to Sassuolo last weekend.
