Inter President Erick Thohir believes the club are on the right path to return to the summit of Italian football.
The Indonesian, who took over the Nerazzurri Presidency in 2013, outlined the club’s financial situation in an interview with Corriere dello Sport, as well as discussing the transfer market.
“Our objective is to construct a winning Inter again,” he said.
“We understand each other and together with the other staff we want to help Mancini with his work.
“We're always looking for new partners to strengthen our brand and why not, to rebuild an even better San Siro when the time comes.
“We have goals on and off the field and we want to reach them all.
“Off the field this year our revenue has risen from more than €160 to more than €170, but it’s still not enough.
“We need to get to €250 million to be, in terms of income, among the top 10 clubs in Europe.
“And this has to happen by 2019, so we have another four seasons in which we will work with the best directors in the world that we recruited.
“It doesn’t matter if they are Italian or foreign: the only important thing is the results.
“Balance sheet in the red? I'm not worried, we have important amortisation, but the Ebitda (the difference between revenues and costs before interest, taxes and depreciation) is positive.
“We will respect the parameters of the Financial Fair Play.
"In terms of revenue, to not play in the European cups is damaging, but our staff are working well and the confirmation comes from the fact that even without the Europa League our revenues are increasing.
“If I speak as a fan I cannot be happy, but as President I have to see things from a different angle. Without midweek commitments we can prepare well for Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
“The market is young and we still have 40 days ahead. Now Mancini must prepare the team and this year he will have more time to work than last year.
“It is important that the players understand their expectations, what we’re asking of them.
“Kondogbia? We decided to bring 2-3 top players to Inter and he is one of them.
“The comparison with Touré right on a physical level, but in terms of talent I don’t know given the age difference.
“Each player chooses his own path if they want to become the best. We are happy to have Kondogbia and we want to help him become the world's number one.”
