New Inter owner Erick Thohir has revealed a passion for former Nerazzurri and Italy Under-21 striker Nicola Ventola.
The forward was signed by the San Siro giants in 1998 from Bari as a potential star of the future, but his career was hampered by injuries.
“An Inter player from the past who has impressed me? Ventola,” the Indonesian businessman told Sport Mediaset.
“Why him? Anyone could say Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, but it says something else by knowing other players.”
Thohir, who is set to return to Italy in mid-November, has bought a 70 per cent controlling share from President Massimo Moratti.
“I want to do great things at Inter,” he added. “I look forward to returning to the stadium and greeting the Inter fans.
“A team grows if there is a local value but also a global one.”
The Indonesian has also confirmed that his son is a fan of…Juventus.
