The meeting between Paulo Dybala’s agent and Juventus lasted a couple of hours and the Bianconeri reportedly offered their star a lower fixed salary than the one agreed a few months ago.
The Argentinean star sees his current deal expire at the end of the season and talks for his contract extension began from scratch this morning after Juventus withdrew the offer they made at the end of 2021.
The two parties had shaken hands on a new €11m-a-year deal including bonuses (circa €9m plus €2m add-ons), but the Serie A giants changed their stance because of Dybala’s physical issues and financial reasons.
According to Calciomercato.com, Juventus have offered Dybala a €7m-a-year deal plus bonuses, which would see him earn a similar fee than the one agreed in December. However, the length of the new contract would be shorter than the one agreed a few months ago: a three-year deal rather than four.
As per Sky Sport Italia, the fixed salary offered by the Bianconeri is even lower, in the region of €6m per year, but would reach €10m with add-ons. The two parties will probably meet again in the next few weeks as nothing has been agreed so far.
Another change concerns the agent commissions, which are much lower in the current offer. The ball is now on Dybala’s court with several clubs, including Barcelona, Inter and Tottenham Hotspur, linked with securing his services in the summer. According to Calciomercato, Dybala hasn’t yet received offers higher than Juventus’.
