Tabarez to quit Uruguay?

Former Cagliari and Milan boss Oscar Tabarez could step down as Uruguay Coach after 12 years in the role.

Tabarez failed to lead Uruguay into the World Cup semi-finals on Friday after a 2-0 defeat to France, prompting him to admit whether his contract would be extended beyond July 31 was out of his hands.

The 71-year-old first coached his country at the 1990 World Cup and returned in 2006, going on to take them into four more, including the last four at South Affrica 2010.

Tabarez is best known in Italy for his stints in charge of Cagliari and Milan, lasting just three months with the latter during the 96-97 campaign.
