“Icardi is an important player for us, he is a young captain and will be ready to make his contribution. He’s a great professional,” Inter team manager Stankovic told Mediaset Premium.

“In my first derby we lost 3-2, though I scored a goal from a corner. Big games are for big players, and I remember Wesley Sneijder had a wonderful Inter debut in this fixture.

“Eder is fired up and he’ll give us a helping hand.”

Before the game Roberto Mancini said Milan boss Sinisa Mihajlovic – his former teammate and assistant manager – was making too many jokes lately.

“Mancini and Mihajlovic have known each other for many years, so they can afford to exchange a few jokes. It’s always fun to have some verbal sparring before a derby.”
