Squinzi: ‘Berardi won’t go to Inter’

Sassuolo President Giorgio Squinzi insists Domenico Berardi will “absolutely not” join Inter.

The forward was previously co-owned between the Neroverdi and Juventus, and there’s a gentleman’s agreement that he’ll move to Turin in future.

However, sporting director Giovanni Carnevali claimed “the door is open” for a move to Inter, the club Berardi grew up supporting.

However, sporting director Giovanni Carnevali claimed “the door is open” for a move to Inter, the club Berardi grew up supporting.

“No, absolutely not,” Squinzi declared in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb.

“I rule-out a future sale of the player to Inter. I’d add that we want to hold onto him next summer too.”

Sassuolo were defeated 4-3 by Milan at the weekend with some questionable refereeing decisions,  Eusebio Di Francesco’s men having been 3-1 up.

“It’s a defeat that makes me feel worse than others, because it didn’t come about because of sporting deficiencies on the pitch, but because of different trends and situations that have nothing to do with the sport.

“We can’t speak of a result in line with what we saw on the field of play.”
