Inter Coach Luciano Spalletti says “there’s nothing new” on his contract situation but assures “I want to stay”.
The tactician’s contract expires at the end of next season, and it was expected that a renewal would be announced last week.
However, at his Press conference the former Roma boss stated that there was no need to extend his current deal, at least not now.
“I have a contract, there’s no news on the renewal, but it’s the same,” Spalletti told RMC Sport.

“There’s time. I want to stay, Inter seem to want to keep me: no problem.”
Spalletti was also asked about Mauro Icardi, and reiterated his warning that the striker could leave.
“In this market there are players who decide one morning to go and pick up a player, they come to your house and take them away.
“It’s clear if a player like that goes away he has to be replaced, but Icardi hasn’t given any sign of wanting to leave Inter, and that’s crucial.
“If someone pays €110m for his release clause then, for better or worse, we’ll take another striker but I don’t know if it would be one of his level.
“With Icardi we can do great things.
“This season we made a jump in quality, even if not everyone noticed it… Maybe we didn’t make all the steps forward that the champions of the chattering world expected.
“[Stefan] De Vrij, [Kwadwo] Asamoah and Lautaro [Martinez] show that our directors are attentive and aim to strengthen Inter.
“They’re three great readymade players.”
