Fiorentina boss Paulo Sousa is happy with Giuseppe Rossi’s comeback and eager to keep hold of Stefan Savic.
The Viola beat newly-promoted Carpi 2-0 this afternoon and it was Rossi’s first game in over a year.
“I like to see Fiorentina win and as time goes on we’re getting quicker with more scoring opportunities,” said the Coach in a Press conference.
“Today I saw the lads a little more tired for all the training work we’ve been doing. It’s always a pleasure to see a champion like Rossi on the field.
“We need Rossi’s talent, so are working towards increasing his playing time until he can have a full game at a good level.”
Sousa was asked about reports Savic is heading to Atletico Madrid in exchange for Mario Suarez.
“I told the club that as a Coach I would like the team to be balanced and competitive in every area.”
Mario Gomez was jeered by Fiorentina fans after missing two great chances against Carpi, as he moves ever closer to Besiktas.
“We must work on him, give him confidence to play at the top level. He has been in difficulty for a long time, but I am sure that sooner or later he will get back to being what he was.
“I am very happy with Borja Valero’s performance. He played in a more advanced role today and he can raise the level of the entire team.
“We are looking for a new signing in midfield and targeted players with different characteristics.”
