Sousa: ‘PAOK best in the group’

Fiorentina Coach Paulo Sousa describes PAOK as “the strongest and most competitive team in the group”.

The Viola face the Greek side in the Europa League tomorrow, and will qualify for the next round if they avoid defeat at Artemio Franchi.

“The team have to be solely focused on tomorrow to give value to everything we’ve done,” Sousa cautioned in his pre-match Press conference.

“PAOK are the strangers and most competitive team in the group. The Greeks don’t even have the League to think about [due to postponements], so they can concentrate solely on this match.

“Finishing first? It’s fundamental, in the draw it has a big influence as we’ve seen in the past. But we’re required to get used to winning, because that brings us closer to the final victory.”

Federico Bernardeschi has been linked with a move to Chelsea, and Sousa doesn’t think the winger will be in Florence for the long-haul.

“From what I understand about football, I think he definitely has a future with teams which have different ambitions to Fiorentina.”
