Sousa: ‘Kalinic a joy’

Fiorentina Coach Paulo Sousa describes working with “very special” Nikola Kalinic as “a joy”.

The Croatian international declared today that he doesn’t want to accept a move to Tianjin Quanjian, though intermediaries are still trying to convince him.

While it appears the Viola hierarchy may be keen to cash in, the Coach is on the side of his player.

“He’s a Fiorentina player,” Sousa said in his pre-Chievo Press conference.

“He’s always shown me that his attitude is fantastic, for a Coach it’s a joy to work with someone very special like him.

“Will Mauro Zarate leave? You’d have to ask the directors.”

Fiorentina face a trip to Chievo this weekend, having defeated bitter rivals Juventus on Sunday.

“Fiorentina are aware of our mentality and our technical and tactical quality. The game against Juventus was almost a double win because of the joy for the Viola family.

“There was an extraordinary win and we need to maintain these levels.”
