CSKA Moscow manager Leonid Slutski is worried about facing Roma’s “frightening attack” in the Champions League.
They go head-to-head at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).
“The favourites in the group are Manchester City and Bayern Munich, as they won their respective Leagues,” said Slutski in his Press conference.
“Thanks to the arrival of Roman Eremenko and other players, CSKA are stronger than last season. The Champions League is a great shop window for everybody and Dumbia in particular aspires to reach Europe’s most important clubs.”
CSKA Moscow were third seeds in the Champions League draw, whereas Roma were fourth because they had been out of Europe for two years.
“Roma can be a surprise package. Their attack is frightening, because every Roma player from Totti, Iturbe, Gervinho and Pjanic can happily decide a match by themselves.
“I already faced Rudi Garcia’s Lille in the Champions League and this team has a similar structure, but he had an inferior calibre of player at his disposal back then.”
