Simoni: ‘Ronaldo better than CR7’

Former Inter Coach Gigi Simoni believes Ronaldo was “much more complete” than Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Brazilian scored 34 goals in 47 games for the Nerazzurri with Simoni on the bench, and the tactician believes he was a better player than even CR7.

“‘My’ Ronaldo was much more complete, more unpredictable,” Simone told SportNews.

“They’re two different players. Cristiano is a good player, but il Fenomeno was something else.”

Ronaldo was controversially denied a penalty against Juve in 1998, but Massimo Moratti and Andrea Agnelli appear to have made peace in recent months.

“I’ve never seen a President as angry as Moratti was about that incident. It’s a very sad memory, especially for those of us who suffered a serious injustice.

“We’ll always have that memory, for me nothing is forgotten and it’ll remain in the minds of the Inter fans.

“In a certain period Juventus were guided by particular characters, and in 2006 they got sent to Serie B.”
