After going down 0-1, Cosenza coach Roberto Occhiuzzi decided to make three changes and Adrian Petre, Ishan Sacko and Abou Ba came on to replace Luca Bittante, Mirko Bruccini and Mirko Carretta for the home side.
But Bruccini didn’t realise he had been replaced and remained on the pitch. The referee didn’t notice either and the match wen on with 12 against 11 for a few minutes.
The Salernitana bench made the match official aware and Ba was booked in the 78th minute, two minutes after having entered for Bruccini, as he didn’t wait for his teammate to leave the pitch.
Three minutes later, Ba was handed a second yellow for a foul and Cosenza went from 12 to 10 in only five minutes.
