The Apulia outfit were declared bankrupt, but still seem set to avoid relegation from the second tier at the end of the season.
Nevertheless, their long term survival has now been placed in doubt, as an auction to sell the club name and badge was fruitless.
Only one offer came in from former referee and ex-Bari team manager Gianluca Paparesta, but it was considered invalid by the courts because it did not include the requisite cheque to prove funds were available.
There were also other basic errors in the paperwork handed in, which included proof of €3m from an Indian bank, so Bari fans must wait and hope someone comes forward with a genuine plan to save the club by May 12.
Time is extremely short, as Serie A and B clubs must provide proof of their financial stability by June 30 in order to be registered for the new season.
Bari’s former Coach Eugenio Fascetti also commented on the club’s demise.
“Bari is a bargain! I don’t want to believe what is happening. The winding up petition is a huge blow to the city.”
