Serie A Preview | Salernitana vs. Lazio: Granata still hope

Bottom club Salernitana face another tough test as they welcome Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio to the Stadio Arechi this weekend.

The Granata are rooted to the foot of the Serie A table some six points from safety and were roundly beaten 3-0 in the reverse fixture at the Stadio Olimpico in November.

The Granata did manage to pick up their third league win of the season last weekend in beating Verona 2-1 away from home, but Lazio are an entirely different proposition.

The Biancocelesti are struggling for consistency though after drawing their first game of 2022 3-3 with Empoli before a seventh loss of the campaign last time out.

However, there were plenty of positives to be found in their 2-1 defeat away to champions Inter, with top scorer Ciro Immobile netting his 15 goals in 17 Serie A appearances so far this term.
