The Rossoneri lost 2-1 to Napoli going into the break for international duty, ending a 22-match unbeaten Serie A run.

Injuries are piling up again, losing Mike Maignan, Junior Messias and Theo Hernandez, adding to long-term absentees Divock Origi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alessandro Florenzi.

Ante Rebic is back on the bench and Leao returns after suspension to lead the way with the indefatigable Olivier Giroud, who also started both his Nations League matches for France.

Sandro Tonali and Davide Calabria are available again, with Fode Ballo-Toure and Ciprian Tatarusanu stepping in.

Empoli are fresh from their first victory of the season, 1-0 away to Bologna, but Ardian Ismajli picked up an injury playing for Albania.
