Rumours had surfaced that the inspirational leader would retire at the end of the current campaign, but the 41-year-old, who was in charge between 2008 and 2011, has rubbished those comments.
“Why should he quit?” she told Vocegiallorossi. “Especially when he's playing like this.”
She also went on to comment on the club's current regime, and the expectations of fans in the capital.
“I do not know if there is someone who wants to destabilize Roma,” she said. “But when results do not go your way, everything seems to becoming more and more difficult.
“Rome, as we know, is a special place. Fans praise the players when things are going well, but when they are not…well.
“It is difficult to judge from the outside whether there are any problems, but when I was there, it happened often.
“I continue to follow the team as a supporter, but I am missing being involved on a professional level.”
