“This is a game we must try to win. We’re coming off a great victory at Torino before Christmas and want to keep that momentum going,” said the coach in his press conference.

“Verona also know that if they lose and we win, the whole battle to avoid relegation will be opened up again. We have nothing to lose and this can be a turning point for us to get back into a position more suited to a squad of our quality.

“It’s good to have Federico Di Francesco back and he could well start, while Arkadiusz Reca should we hope be ready for Fiorentina.”

Semplici was asked if Jasmin Kurtic will play, considering the reports of a move to Parma or Genoa.

“He is in the squad and I’ll use him if needs be. He trained well, is an important player who has done positive things and that is reflected by the offers he has received.

“Right now, I want to focus only on our mentality. You can ask the club about the transfer strategy.”
