Clarence Seedorf has ended his 10-year relationship with Serie A giants Milan. “This has been my family.”

The 36-year-old held a Press conference at the club’s HQ earlier today where he confirmed that he would leave once his contract expires this month.

“I’m happy that I can dedicate this conference to my time at Milan,” stated the former international midfielder.

“You’ll know my future soon, in a few days, but I can confirm that I’ve never had as many offers as I have currently got.

“I need to evaluate everything and I’ll take my time as I did when I left Inter to join Milan. I’ll consider everything which is important to me, including the needs of my wife and kids.

“Milan are like a family for me, I’ve spent more time with people here over the last decade than I have with my own family…”

The former Sampdoria and Real Madrid player joined the Diavolo in 2002 after three years with city rivals Inter.

“They have been 10 splendid years and I have to thank everyone, the club, the fans and Italy – a country where my two children were born,” he added. “Milan has been a special and splendid city for me.

“We could have reached an agreement over a renewal, but I chose to leave for the good of my future.

“I’ve been thinking about going for a while. It’s important to think about life after football, but now I just want a new experience. The club have known this for two years.”

During his career with the Rossoneri, he won two Scudetti, two Italian Super Cups, two Champions League titles, two European Super Cups, a Coppa Italia and a FIFA Club Cup.
