Ezequiel Schelotto concedes it will be “strange” to face Inter for Sassuolo after he was frozen out by Walter Mazzarri.

The Italy international of Argentine descent only joined Inter in January 2013, but over the summer was immediately told by new Coach Mazzarri that he had no part in his plans. He was even left behind when the team went on its pre-season tour of America.

“It will be a strange game for me against Inter, but I came here to Sassuolo in order to do well,” said the on loan winger.

“I want to focus only on the Neroverde jersey and hopefully earn my place in the Italy side.”

He faces his former teammates in the early kick-off today at 11.30am UK time (10.30 GMT). Click here for a match preview.

Sassuolo are bottom of the table with zero points, one goal scored and eight conceded.

“We need to improve in many respects, including our determination in front of goal,” continued Schelotto.

“Our objective is safety and if you don’t score goals then you don’t win games. Against Inter we must reduce the errors to an absolute minimum.

“At least we’ve made improvements in terms of character and performance, but the only thing we’re lacking is goals.”
