Scamacca message for West Ham, Roma and Milan

Italy international Gianluca Scamacca admits many consider him to be ‘an unexpressed talent,’ but tells West Ham, Milan, Roma and other interested parties that he ‘just needs to be in the right place at the right time.’

The striker is remarkably well-travelled for a 24-year-old, having already played in Italy, the Netherlands and England, making the €36m plus bonuses move to West Ham United last summer from Sassuolo.

He has struggled to settle in, but still managed to find the back of the net eight times in 27 competitive appearances for the Hammers.

“For the last two years my Instagram account continues to be filled with transfer gossip posts that I am tagged in,” Scamacca told Cronache di Spogliatoio.

“Many consider me to be an unexpressed talent. I know that I have quality we haven’t seen yet, but I am also 100 per cent sure that whoever signs me will be getting a bargain.

“I just think I need to be in the right place at the right time. I don’t know what that will be exactly, we can only discover that by living life.”

Scamacca has been heavily linked with a return to Serie A for Milan and Roma, but in both cases West Ham are refusing to let him leave on loan with an option to buy, as they are holding out for a guaranteed sale.

Unusually, the native Roman has played in both the Lazio and Roma youth academies.

“I am very hard on myself, I expect a great deal. That has been the case ever since I was playing in the streets in my neighbourhood of Rome. I was born and raised in those streets.”
