Newly promoted Sassuolo will hold talks with Juventus this week in an effort to sign available defender Reto Ziegler.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the Swiss international has become a target as the club look for a new left-back.
Sassuolo admitted earlier this month that the 27-year-old was of interest, but they would need help from Juve with regards to his wages.
“We like Ziegler,” sporting director Nereo Bonato noted. “We are looking to add a left-sided player to the squad.
“The Swiss could be the right man to bring in, but our problem is that his salary is too high for us…”
The international has been made available for transfer after never breaking into the plans of boss Antonio Conte in Turin.
Having arrived during the same summer as the Coach, the Bosman free signing has spent the last two campaigns on loan at Fenerbahce and Lokomotiv Moscow.
