Sassuolo’s Matteo Politano has suffered a potentially serious injury, the club has confirmed.
The winger has picked up both knee and ankle injuries, and while the prognosis is not yet clear it appears he could be out for some time.
“Matteo Politano is out after the assessments showed a sprain of his left knee with the involvement of the sciatic nerve,” a statement from the Neroverdi announced.
“That is combined with a sprain to his left ankle. Further assessments will be made across the coming days.”
