Sassuolo have announced that striker Gregoire Defrel has tested positive for COVID-19 during pre-season training.
The forward is ‘totally asymptomatic’ and currently self-isolating at home.
The club has activated the protocol for a Coronavirus case within the squad and in contact with the local authorities for further information on testing and quarantine procedures.
While the vaccine does not entirely guarantee someone will not become infected with COVID-19, it will limit symptoms.
