Sarri: ‘Lazio errors decisive against Sassuolo’

Maurizio Sarri believes Lazio‘s errors were crucial in their 2-1 loss against Sassuolo, although his side was also affected by Mattia Zaccagni and Pedro’s injuries.

The Biancocelesti failed to win the second game in a row, losing 2-1 at the Mapei Stadium.

“The development of the game caused us trouble. We had to replace Pedro and Zaccagni, who had been doing well, but we also have ourselves to blame,” Sarri told DAZN.

“We’ve often faced teams playing with a 4-2-3-1 system, we knew what we had to do and that it was a difficult game, Sassuolo are a strong team. Technically, they are worth more than their position in the table.

“We made some mistakes and we were a bit unlucky with Pedro and Zaccagni’s injuries,” Sarri continued.

“We lacked a little bit of quality, but I can’t say we didn’t run enough or that we lacked commitment.”
