Former Juventus, Napoli and Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri confirms he has received ‘four’ offers from foreign clubs, ‘especially from Premier League and La Liga.’

The Italian tactician resigned as Lazio coach in March and has recently been linked with Newcastle and Sevilla.

Football Italia sources confirm the La Liga side approached the Italian tactician over the last few weeks.

“I am open to all projects that attract me,” Sarri told reporters on Monday, as quoted by Gazzetta, during a friendly tournament to honour the late Niccolò Galli, a former Bologna and Arsenal player who died in 2001 at 18 in a motorcycle crash in Bologna.

“For now, the only four clubs that approached me come from abroad, specifically from the Premier League and La Liga. It depends on the opportunities and which mid-long-term project attracts me.”

Many Fiorentina fans hope to see Sarri replace Vincenzo Italiano in the summer. Sarri is not only Tuscan but he also lives only a few kilometres away from Florence.

“They [Fiorentina] called me in the past, but never over the last few sessions,” he admitted.

“The only way to work for Fiorentina would be to ring at Viola Park and see if somebody opens the gates,” he joked.

“I am available for all projects that intrigue me and I don’t need the Champions League at all costs.”

Fiorentina will meet Olympiacos in the Conference League Final next week.

“The Viola can win, but they’ll face a good team,” said Sarri.

“Fiorentina are superior, but not so superior to imagine a relaxed game. It will also be a tough match because it will be played in Athens. I also hope Atalanta win [the Conference League against Bayer Leverkusen].

“Italiano is a great coach, he is young and has room for improvement,” continued Sarri.

“He has made a good journey in Florence, even if I think Fiorentina could have done a little more in Serie A this season. However, when you go far away in cup games, it’s normal to lose something in the league.”

Sarri won the Serie A title with Juventus in 2019-20 and the Europa League with Chelsea in the previous campaign.
