Sarri an option for Roma and Fiorentina

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, there are two problems Fiorentina and Roma would face if they had to sack their coaches to hire Maurizio Sarri.

The former Chelsea manager was sacked by Juventus last summer and Sarri has yet two years left in his contract with the Old Lady.

Aurelio Virgili, one of his closest friends, has told Tuttosport that freeing himself from Juve and take another job this season would not be a problem for Sarri.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, however, there are still two problems Fiorentina and Roma would have to face should they sack their coaches to hire the former Juventus boss.

The first one is Sarri’s wages: he is on a €5.5m-a-year deal with the Old Lady, a fee that both clubs would struggle to offer him.

Roma’s new owner Dan Friedkin is reportedly willing to hire the first coach of his era but sacking Paolo Fonseca has been proved difficult as the club have recently confirmed losses of €204m.

Fiorentina could not reach an economic agreement with Luciano Spalletti a year ago, when they sacked Vincenzo Montella to eventually bring in Beppe Iachini. La Viola may face the same problem with Sarri.

Another problem is the Tuscan’s reluctance to join a new club when the season is ongoing. A few years ago he revealed that he would not come in as a replacement ever again in his career.
