The former Newcastle United man came off the bench in the final minutes of the 3-2 defeat to Juventus on Saturday evening.
His defending was not impeccable on the two late goals scored by Juan Cuadrado – with deflection off Milan Skriniar – and Gonzalo Higuain.

Both Santon and partner Chloe Sanderson saw their social media accounts bombarded by aggressive, even violent messages from Inter fans including death threats and wishes for them to get cancer.
“Football is a sport of passion. I understand and appreciate that,” she wrote on Instagram.
“But for the first time in my life I am scared in my own home alone with my baby… When I’m told to lock my doors and I have to worry how my partner will get home tonight.
“It’s not okay.
“NO ONE is more devastated about the result tonight than Davide.”
