Davide Santon said “the Inter shirt means everything to me” and he jumped at the chance of returning.
The versatile full-back was in the Nerazzurri youth academy and came back to San Siro after he was sold to Newcastle United.
“Growing up here was wonderful but also difficult, as I left home at the age of 14 and being away from your family is never easy,” Santon told Inter Channel.
“When I arrived there were many experienced players, I was lucky enough to be part of a fantastic Inter side at the age of 17.

“When in January there was the opportunity to come back to Inter, it was very satisfying for me. Now there are more young players and we can all grow together.
“The teammate I am most fond of is Jonathan Biabiany, as we grew up together. It is a very united squad anyway, so we all get along.”
Inter sit in second place and welcome Juventus on Sunday evening.
“It will be a very long season. We started well and at the moment might not be playing the most spectacular football, but we are solid and hope to continue like this. I have faith and think Inter can have a great campaign.
“The Inter jersey means everything to me. I respect it a great deal and always will. I learned to love and honour it through the many champions who wore this shirt.”
