Sampdoria survive after budget approved and loan secured

Sampdoria have navigated out of choppy waters, approving their latest balance sheets and securing bank loans to increase the capital at the club.

The Blucerchiati were plagued by numerous financial issues in the 2022-23 season, leaving them with unpaid wages and a toxic atmosphere on the Ligurian coast. Things went from bad to worse when Sampdoria finished in the relegation zone, condemning them to Serie B for next season.

Andrea Radrizzani and Matteo Manfredi have been working to takeover Sampdoria from Massimo Ferrero and have faced a number of obstacles in recent weeks, but have still gotten the deal across the line.

As detailed by TMW, a Sampdoria shareholders’ meeting took place today at the club’s headquarters at Corte Lambruschini. In this meeting, the green light was given to approve the balance sheets ending December 2022, a crucial step to allow them to register for Serie B.

Furthermore, the courts have given the green light to release the bank loans needed for the Blucerchiati to complete the necessary capital increase.
