Salernitana talks for Kouyate and Diallo

Salernitana are looking to France again with negotiations in progress for FC Metz defender Boubacar Kouyaté and Strasbourg striker Habib Diallo.

The minnows fought back from a dire situation to secure their Serie A status on the final day of the season, but are determined to start stronger this time around under coach Davide Nicola.

They have been busy reinforcing all summer and are once again in talks with Ligue 1 sides for their next players.

According to L’Equipe, Salernitana saw their initial €5m offer rejected for FC Metz and Mali international centre-back Kouyaté, although negotiations are continuing and a new improved bid is expected over the next couple of days.

Meanwhile, Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio also maintains that Salernitana are discussing Strasbourg striker Habib Diallo.

He is fresh from winning the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal.

Here again, an initial bid was turned down, but talks are continuing and a new proposal is expected.
