Russia and England want Mancini

Inter boss Roberto Mancini is not only being linked with the England job, but the bench in Russia as well.

A source told Russian news agency TASS that “the Russian Football Union is considering Mancini’s candidacy to head the national football squad.

“The RFU has had no contacts with the manager so far.”

Mancini’s imminent future has been thrown into doubt after Inter’s failure to capture some high-profile signings this summer, above all Yaya Toure.

Mancini’s imminent future has been thrown into doubt after Inter’s failure to capture some high-profile signings this summer, above all Yaya Toure.

There seems to be a fundamental disagreement in strategy between Mancini and the club’s new owners Suning Commerce Group.

The 51-year-old has already been heavily linked with the vacant England job and now another international bench is opening up to him.

He'd be following in the footsteps of Fabio Capello, who was in charge of both nations.

Meanwhile, RFU President Vitaly Mutko confirmed he’d “like to have the Coach by the start of the championship on July 30.”
