Roma are planning to strengthen their defence in the summer and are keen on picking up Leicester City centre back Caglar Soyuncu, reports suggest.
The 26-year-old Turkish centre back has impressed over the last few years in the Premier League, looking defensively solid and calm after making his €21.1m move from Freiburg in 2018. Soyuncu is an experienced international with Turkey and now looks ready to make the next step in his career.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Soyuncu is on track to leave Leicester City on a free transfer in the summer and Roma are keen to snap him up. The Giallorossi are now working on a contract for the Turkish centre back and are confident that they can secure his services.
The Roman club are still unsure what to do with veteran defender Chris Smalling. His agent has been in contact with Inter recently and the Englishman could leave the club in the summer, making space for Soyuncu.
