Roma transfer news: Dybala contract nears, Scamacca in waiting

Roma are ready to offer Paulo Dybala a raise in his new contract and work is still ongoing for West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca.

The Giallorossi, limited by financial restrictions, have been relatively quiet in the first month of the summer transfer window, picking up Evan Ndicka and Houssem Aouar on free transfer and Ramus Kristensen on loan.

With Tammy Abraham sidelined with a cruciate ligament injury until January or February at the earliest, the only striker available to Jose Mourinho is Andrea Belotti, who struggled to show his best in the Italian capital last season.

Corriere dello Sport details how Roma are still working on a deal for Scamacca, despite Mourinho’s preference of Alvaro Morata, and Tiago Pinto is in close contact with West Ham to try and agree a loan deal with a permanence clause attached.

The Italian striker is waiting patiently for things to progress and is keen on the idea of making the move to the Italian capital this summer.

In the meantime, Roma are also trying to draw up a new contract for star man Dybala, who has no intention of allowing his release clause – €12m for foreign clubs and €20m for Italian sides – to be activated this month.

Due to add-ons, Dybala earnt around €6m net in his debut season with the Giallorossi, but the plan is to offer him a new long-term deal with higher figures.

Roma are happy to raise his salary, both increasing the fixed amount and making the add-ons easier to achieve, and he could earn upwards of €7-7.5m net per season.
