Paris Saint-Germain reportedly requested Nicola Zalewski as part of the deal for Georginio Wijnaldum, but Roma flatly refused to involve the talented youngster.
According to Radio Radio, the proposal was made during negotiations to bring Wijnaldum to the Stadio Olimpico.
Born and raised in Italy from Polish parents, Zalewski only turned 20 in January, but already has five senior caps for Poland and has become a regular in Jose Mourinho’s club side.
Originally more of a left-sided attacking winger, he became a left wingback under Mourinho after progressing through the Roma youth academy.
He recently signed a new contract to June 2025 and has 17 Serie A appearances, along with six in the Europa Conference League on the way to lifting that trophy. Roma are eager to bring in Wijnaldum on loan with PSG paying half his €9m per season salary, whereas the Ligue 1 giants hope to sell for €10m instead.
