Roma have reached an agreement with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal for the permanent transfer of right-back Saud Abdulhamid, according to Sunday’s reports.
Roma reach agreement for Abdulhamid
The Saudi national team right-back is set to join the Giallorossi on a permanent transfer worth a guaranteed €2.5m, with add-ons potentially taking the deal up to the €3m mark, according to updates from Fabrizio Romano.
The player is expected to arrive in time to complete a medical on Monday.
Abdulhamid will become the first Saudi player to play professionally in Serie A, assuming that the move does go through.
The 25-year-old has 26 caps for his country at senior level, and also represented his nation at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. At that tournament, he played the full 90 minutes as Saudi Arabia recorded an historic 2-1 win over eventual champions Argentina.
Al-Hilal are reportedly targeting a move for out-of-favour Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo to replace the outgoing Abdulhamid.
