Roma are reported as persisting in talks for Torino’s Alessio Cerci, with Walter Sabatini apparently meeting with the player’s agent.
The Giallorossi have been reported on and off this summer as in negotiations with the Granata over buying back the 26-year-old who originally developed in their youth system.
Whilst seen as tabling an offer of €12m or €13m cash and ownership of Valerio Verre, Torino are believed to be holding out for €20m cash, or a deal involving Alessandro Florenzi going to Turin.
This apparent situation has been followed up this week by President Urbano Cairo’s assertion that he ‘will do anything’ to keep Cerci at the club for next year.
However, the Gazzetta dello Sport report that Roma are persisting with their interest in the forward and yesterday had sporting director Sabatini meet with his representative at Trigoria.
It is understood that the pair further discussed reaching agreement on personal terms for Cerci.
