Marco Borriello and Mattia Destro are left out of Roma’s US tour, fuelling reports of an exit for the senior striker.

The news comes on the same day as Italian papers suggest a deal is close to sign Gervinho from Arsenal for €8m.

Borriello returned to Roma this summer after a loan spell at Genoa, who were unable to agree terms for a permanent move.

It is reported that negotiations could resume for an exchange between Borriello and Genoa-owned Alberto Gilardino.

There are also suggestions of interest from Malaga, though Borriello has reportedly turned down a move to Tottenham.

As for Destro, he joined the Giallorossi from Siena last summer, but struggled to make an impact amid injuries.

The 22-year-old scored six goals in 21 Serie A games last season, but is out injured again until September.
