Roma President James Pallotta has touched down in Italy ahead of the derby and the announcement of Francesco Totti’s new contract.
The two capital giants will meet at the weekend, while the almost 37-year-old is set to sign an extension until 2016.
“What renewal? I didn’t know one was needed,” joked Pallotta when asked about the captain’s future with his hometown club.
The American businessman was also questioned on the progress being made in relation to the new stadium project.
“We’ve been working on it for 18 months, but we have no announcement to make,” Pallotta added. “We’re working hard.
“We have some great plans and we need to follow things through to the end. Progress is being made.”
