Roma boss: We need Tuscan win

Fiorentina and Roma both desperately need the three points when they will meet on Saturday, says Giallorossi boss Aurelio Andreazzoli.

With the home team looking to qualify for the Champions League and the capital outfit hoping for a Europa League spot, a draw would be of little use to either side.

“The game is of vital importance, because I want three more points in order to continue pursuing our goals,” the tactician noted.

“And it’s also important for them in their pursuit of an extraordinary objective, so it’s normal they’ll give their all. But we’re going to go for it.

“I believe both teams plan on playing an open match, but then we won’t be able to really judge how spectacular the game is going to be until the battle begins.

“I think the two teams will focus a lot of attention on their own ideas of the game and also on the moves the opponent makes.”

Fiorentina have been a revelation this season and Andreazzoli respects the tactical ability of Vincenzo Montella, a man he worked with at Trigoria.

“Montella puts a lot into his team,” the Coach who replaced Zdenek Zeman in February added. “The players make the difference, but the Coaches can contribute.

“And then we also have to consider their quality. The stats show it all and you can’t argue with the Viola’s numbers.

“We know Fiorentina’s quality and I really like them as a team. Their football is sparkling, assertive and involving in every aspect. They have quality players. But I don’t think these factors will influence my choices.”

Fiorentina are fourth in the table, six points clear of fifth-placed Roma.
