Roma boss Mourinho ‘frustrated’ at transfer window

Roma boss José Mourinho said he is “frustrated” with Roma’s lack of transfer activity so far.

The Giallorossi have so far signed midfielder Nemanja Matić, defender Zeki Çelik and goalkeeper Mile Svilar – two of which were free transfers.

Roma have been linked with a whole host of names, while much of their activity may be linked to the future of Nicolò Zaniolo, who is linked with a move to Juventus.

Speaking to Il Corriere dello Sport, Mourinho said with a smile on his face: “Can you tell by my expression I’m worried?”

He then said: “I am bit frustrated with the transfer market,” before adding: “But don’t worry, don’t worry.”

Roma have been in the market for a new winger with Valencia’s Gonçalo Guedes and Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi among the names bandied about.

Reports in Italy suggest Mourinho is keen on another experienced midfielder to partner Matić in the middle of the park – and that could arrive in the form of a swap deal with Juve, if Zaniolo goes the other way.

Roma are also in the mix to sign free agent Paulo Dybala, with reports suggesting they are the frontrunners alongside Inter.
