Rossoneri President Silvio Berlusconi had confirmed he was trying to convince Guardiola to take over next season, but today it was made official that his next club will be Bayern Munich.
This news prompts further newspaper speculation over who could replace Massimiliano Allegri, whose position is unclear despite having a contract until 2014.
Today the Saudi Arabian Federation announced it has sacked Coach Rijkaard just 18 months into his €16m deal.
The former Milan midfielder was fired after they were knocked out of the Gulf Cup by Kuwait.
Rijkaard has been tipped as one of the potential Coaches at Milan along with current Parma boss Donadoni.
“Milan’s interest? I find it gratifying on the one hand, but on the other it is in poor taste,” Donadoni told Il Giornale.
“I find it in bad taste for Allegri, who is in his third year at Milan. He won the Scudetto the first year, finished second last term and is now in charge of an incredible reformation of the squad.
