Riise: ‘Unbelievable’ Roma-Liverpool

John Arne Riise has played for both Roma and Liverpool, so he knows the “unbelievable” atmosphere and admits he’ll be “neutral.”

The first leg of the Champions League semi-final ended 5-2 for the Reds at Anfield and the decider is tonight at the Stadio Olimpico.

“When you play at home in an atmosphere like Anfield or the Olimpico, it gives you energy. It gives you the will to do more, you want to run for your team, for the club and the fans,” Riise told Roma TV.

“Even when you are tired, you hear the fans shouting and screaming, it helps you to play better.

“I expect Roma at the Olimpico, where it’s going to be 65,000 Roma fans and 5,000 Liverpool fans, it’s going to be unbelievable, as they are two great sets of fans.

“I’m glad I’m going to be seated in the middle and a little bit neutral, so I just hope for a great game and a great atmosphere.”
